What is Kinship Networking?

We´re a problem-solving agency. We like to solve problems. Unlike some agencies or consultancies who provide their advice as a means to selling you one "white label" product, we’re ´media neutral´. We like to start by interrogating the business problem. A better solution ensues that way, even if it´s not a social media solution.

Our focus is on "solutions using socialness" but what does that mean exactly?

Kinship Networking is a fundamentally new type of digital agency, designing and building social networks for organisations to help them connect better with their customers, employees and shareholders.

We build and consult on social networks for clients ranging from global client service businesses to small entrepreneurial start-ups.

Using our proprietary platform wimsicl©, specifically developed to build social networks, we offer our clients the best of both worlds, a bespoke solution specific to the business problem at hand, but that´s delivered with the rapid turnaround of a "white label" product.
What we do
Historically there were two types of communications agency. Broadcast agencies that communicate to consumers by broadcasting a message through traditional media such as TV, magazines and radio. And interactive agencies that believe a 1-to-1 conversation is the most powerful way to persuade. They believe in personalisation, interaction and conversation.

We´re a new type of agency - we are a networking agency. With the rise of the internet and social networking tools, a new form of peer-to-peer agency has become possible. What broadcasting and interactive agencies miss is the connection between the members of their audience. Neither take into account the fact that people talk to each other. Historically this has not mattered as people have not been able to connect with a vast amount of people. Now thanks to the boom in social networking people can know and speak to thousands and thousands of people if not millions: all of a sudden the connection between people matters more than any message a brand can shout.
Where we´ve come from
Charles Wells is the founder of Kinship Networking, His interests in social networking are rooted in his biological sciences studies at Balliol College, Oxford where he was intrigued by the links between neurology and social behaviour. Investigating social systems further, he found that, be they ant colonies, self-organising systems in business or terrorist networks, social systems had remarkably common characteristics in the way they were organised and the way individuals interacted in those environments. From this initial research, the "Rules of Kinship" were born, the framework behind wimsicl©, which, in turn, forms the core of Kinship Networking.
How can "socialness" benefit me?
So what can social networks actually do for your business? Broadly, they can enhance your relationships with your customers, your employees and your suppliers, in the following main areas:

1. Connection
2. Collaboration (problem solving)
3. New business
4. CRM
5. Data gathering
6. PR
7. Knowledge management
Why you should choose Kinship
1. Value for money
Of vital importance in the tough financial climate, our platform can provide you with incomparable value for money for a bespoke social network, one specifically built to solve your business problem.

2. An evolving community
We develop all our communities on our agile platform Wimsicl - this platform is continually being updated with the latest social networking functionality which means that a network we develop for you will always be using the tools at the forefront of social networking.

3. The right answer to your problem
Unlike some agencies or consultancies who provide their advice as a means to selling you one "white label" product, we’re ´media neutral´. We like to start by interrogating the business problem. A better solution ensues that way (even if it´s not a social media solution).

4. Better way of working
Because of the way our Wimsicl platform has been built, even those without one jot of experience with html, Java or all those other slightly scary development languages, can build a simple social network. What this allows is the person who deals with the client to also build the site. This might not sound the most revolutionary piece of thought on the planet, but it allows the people who understand the user to build the network not just geeky programmers... sorry guys. The client knows what they’re getting and when we come to build, we know exactly what the client wants.
