IPA - sharing creative work within a network We love a challenge...so what was it? As one of the world’s pre-eminent trade bodies for marketing communications agencies, the IPA has over 270 of the UK’s brightest and best agencies in membership who between them handle an estimated 85% of all UK advertising spend. The IPA wanted a space where creative work from all media could be showcased. But how could this work be shared and shown easily and effectively? And how could the IPA really limit the amount of time it would need to spend on administering such a space? Crikey, so what on earth did we do? We took a community-based solution to the problem and built a site called All Our Best Work, a place for individuals and agencies to upload and share their creative work. It allows users to post comments on each piece of work, highlight the work they’re involved in and say whether they like the work. Agencies can show off their best work and thereby enhance their creative reputation, whilst individuals can do the same. And how well did we do it? We won’t boast too much I promise. All Our Best Work already has 164 members and 12 agencies showcasing their best work, and it hasn’t even launched yet. People are spending, on average, over eight minutes on the site, looking at and commenting on all the creative work on offer. The site has the support of the industry and is set to become the standard medium for agencies and those working in advertising to show off their work. So where do we go from here? The site officially launches at the end of November and we’re looking forward to growing and developing the site further. We are also currently exploring the potential for a similar work showcasing model in other creative industries. |
